In order to further expand its network of international partners, Casablanca Finance City (CFC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Barcelona Center Financer Europeu (BCFE), the Barcelona’s financial center.
This agreement lays the foundation for a sustainable cooperation that aims to promote investment opportunities between Spain, Morocco and Africa. The signed agreement will also establish a platform to encourage and promote green finance and sustainable infrastructure.
It will also contribute to fostering the sharing of knowledge and expertise between the two signatories, with the aim of developing an effective cooperation through the organization of professional training programs, research activities, publications and exchanges of delegations between these two markets.
This MoU marks the CFC’s thirteenth partnership with some of the largest financial centers across Europe, Asia and North America.
Commenting on this partnership, Said Ibrahimi, CEO of CFC states, “We are very pleased to sign this agreement with BCFE in order to consolidate our cooperation with Spain, which is Morocco’s largest trading partner. This partnership reinforces CFC’s European network allowing us to explore new opportunities for cooperation between our two countries, and more broadly Africa, whose attractiveness for investors is growing stronger. ”
BCFE President Luis Herrero underlined the importance of the agreement signed between the two institutions and the common will to collaborate: “Our aim is to develop a strong and lasting partnership that will provide businesses and economic operators on both sides of the Mediterranean with a solid ground for strengthening trade relations between Spain, Morocco and African countries”.
Mr. Herrero also stressed the need to further promote green finance which is a real development lever on the African continent.
