Stellantis has signed a MOU with the South African Industrial Development Corporation and the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition to develop a manufacturing facility. The plant is planned for setup in a South African Special Economic Zone and will be completed by 2025. According to Stellantis, it is an important step in the ‘Dare Forward 2030’ strategic plan. The manufacturing site will be a new building block in the ambition to sell 1 million vehicles in the region by 2030 with 70% regional production autonomy.
