According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the unemployment rate in Nigeria jumped to 33.3% in the fourth quarter of 2020. In Q2 2020 for the record, the rate was at 27.1%. The NBS report indicates that people aged 15 to 24, women, and people living in rural areas are more affected by unemployment.
According to the IMF, the Nigerian economy is expected to grow slightly by 1.5% this year, after a recession of 1.9% in 2020.
