The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the African continent has surpassed 2 million according to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The continent has seen more than 1.7 million recoveries from COVID-19 so far and the most affected countries include South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and Ethiopia. Southern Africa is the most affected region both in terms of the number of confirmed positive cases and number of deaths.
