According to the IMF, SSA stands to lose the most in a severely fragmented world. The Regional Economic Outlook for Africa forecasts that growth in the region will decline to 3.6% this year. The funding squeeze will impact the region’s longer-term outlook and in such turbulent context, strengthening public financial management and taming inflation should be high priorities on the policy makers agenda.
