Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's Prosperity Party secured nearly 90% of the seats in Parliament, winning 438 seats among those officially announced. The election, however, took place without the participation of the Tigray region, which continues to face significant security challenges and a stalled political dialogue. The new head of the executive is expected to be formally appointed by lawmakers between late September and early October.
