In partnership with Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) Africa Key experts and panellists explored the potential of carbon markets on the continent, including VCM, and addressed the challenges and opportunities associated with their development.
This is a follow-up event to the high-level roundtable that was co-organized by CFCA and CDG at the Moroccan pavilion during COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan last month. Participants highlighted the transformative role of carbon markets in channelling and massifying investment flows to finance adaptation and mitigation projects. They shared insights on creating high-integrity markets, highlighted initiatives like the Africa Carbon Support Facility or the Egyptian carbon market, and discussed CFC's ambition to launch a regional VCM.
