The African continent witnessed a series of major economic announcements this month, led by the Africa Forward Summit, held on 11–12 May 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. Hosted for the first time in Anglophone Africa, the summit culminated in French President Emmanuel Macron's announcement of €23 billion in public and private investments. These investments will primarily target key strategic sectors, including: Digital infrastructure; Energy; Healthcare; Education.
