Sall terminated, by decree, the functions of the ministers, members of the government. The president decided to set up a new government under the leadership of current Prime Minister Amadou Ba. The composition of the new government will be published soon. Ba is a candidate of the ruling Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition for the 2024 presidential election. Sall announced July 3 that he would not stand for a third term.
