Zambia asks France to help speed up debt restructuring talks

Economic news

Zambian President Hichilema met Macron in Paris and asked him to use his country’s influence to speed up Zambia’s delayed debt restructuring talks. France and China co-chair the committee of Zambia’s official creditors. Zambia sent a debt restructuring proposal to its creditors last month.
