Covid-19: Uganda plans phased lifting of countrywide lockdown

The Ugandan Cabinet has agreed to lift in a phased manner the lockdown which started on April 1 aimed at containing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Ministers will present phased reopening plans to the president on May 2 and the lockdown which was extended for 3 weeks may to end on May 5.

Following the first Covid-19 case recorded on March 21, the airport and all borders were on March 22 closed to passenger traffic except cargo.
