Namibia announces plans for a phased lifting of lockdown

Namibia will on May 5 start gradually lifting the lockdown over four phases to allow the economy to function without compromising health of the public although the state of emergency will continue for the next six months.

Namibians will need to wear masks in public areas and the government will assist the most vulnerable populations. The sale of alcohol will continue to be prohibited throughout the country.
