Why Africa’s top stock markets are on a roll

Stock markets in Africa are close to record highs after an incredible rebound from the pandemic. As one of the emerging market BRICS economies, South Africa for instance, has seen a lot of interest from foreign investors since 2021. In January, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, hit an all-time high. The all-share JALSH index has remained elevated through the year. Africa is home to a total of 29 stock exchanges with a combined market capitalization of around $1.6 trillion.
